Some of my family went along with a five year old friend (Keeli) to see Kung Fu Panda this weekend. It was an enjoyable movie. There are some redemptive themes about calling, trust, believing in yourself and good triumphing over evil. One key lesson that the main character (Po - the Panda) learns comes from his father who makes pasta and serves it in a small restaurant. His father has a secret ingredient he puts in the pasta. He tells his son, Po, that one day he will reveal the secret ingredient to him. Later in the movie when Po needs it most his father tells him the secret. The big secret is, "there is no secret ingredient!" It is just pasta. That secret gives Po new insights in his delima with a fierce opponent. I commend this movie to you as well as to your children. Both of you will enjoy it. It was both entertaining and thought prevoking.
