This year we have begun a new method of scripture memory with our Kindergarten through Third Graders. All K-3rd graders will be learning the same verse at the same time. We talk through and practice this verse in worship and again in classes. At the end of the month, children may choose a prize from the treasure chest for saying their verse. At the end of each quarter, children will receive an added reward for memorizing all the verses up to that point. In addition to the rote memory work, each month children will participate in an art project related to the verse of the month. Some of these projects will be collaborative in nature and will be on display in the Narthex next to the entrance of the Elementary wing. We are hopeful that this multi-disciplinary approach will help achieve long term memory.
