Missional Living

Because we are astonished by the truth of the Gospel, we are involved in missional living within the community of Franklin, throughout the United States and all over the world.  We desire to see God forge a just society in caring for the disinherited and renewing our community.  We encourage and challenge each other in the Christian life leading each other further into becoming "World Christians" in middle Tennessee and to the end of the earth.

Christ Community has established five areas of Missions focus:

  • Caring for the Poor
  • Church Planting
  • Children-at-Risk
  • Prison Ministry
  • Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) / Campus Ministry
.. He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
Micah 6:8

Special Opportunity to Help Build Bunkhouse in Appalachia

For over 10 years, Christ Community Church, under the leadership of John Patton, has forged a relationship with those who live on Rattlesnake Ridge in McCreary County, KY. By working closely with Don Coffey and with Barbara & Hilton Duncan, founders of Integrated Community Ministries (ICM), we have made lasting ties with our friends there.

On the Ridge, ICM is also known as the “community center” whose mission includes a food pantry, thrift shop, learning center, and host to many other activities. It is also where we hold VBS and our Women’s Ministry during our Appalachia Family Mission Trip each June. What you may not know is that ICM owns a huge flat field with a covered pavilion and enough room to build a bunkhouse. A bunkhouse would be able to house groups of up to 30 people who are there to do missions work in the area. Also, there is enough area for Boy Scouts to camp, enjoy the Big South Fork, and complete local service projects.

Christ Community Church is spearheading the building of this bunkhouse, and we believe this endeavor will allow missions teams and ICM to go deeper in building relationships with the men, women, and children in the area - most of whom are un-churched.

To give towards the building of the bunkhouse, simply go to ICM’s website at http://www.ky-icm.org/  where you may give directly online through the “Bunkhouse Building Fund.” On their website, you may also view the plans for the bunkhouse. All donations are tax-deductible. If you prefer to give by check, make checks payable to Integrated Community Ministries and mail to:

Missional Living Weekly Prayer Focus

Prayer Focus - Church Planting:   Join us in praying for Rose Marie Miller, serving as a church-planter with World Harvest Mission outside London, where she shares the gospel among South Asians.  Pray for strength for her journey at age 87, having just completed another book: Nothing is Impossible With God!  Pray for encouragement as she shares the hope of Jesus to broken people living in darkness.
