Worship - Care - Serve: The History, Heritage and Hope of Christ Community Church
As we begin a new year together, and as I begin my final season as your pastor for preaching, there are three things I want to accomplish in our first sermon series in 2012. I want us to remember our history, reflect on our heritage and recapture the hope, to which God is calling us as a church family. We will take this journey as we examine three words—three gospel categories, which summarize our first vision, initial heartbeat and focused passion, as God gave birth to CCC in 1986: Worship * Care * Serve
Since day one, these three callings have explained our purpose and intent for existing as a church family. That hasn’t changed in 25 years. But good vision hasn’t always translated into strategic implementation. We must do all three of these well, to the glory of God. All three are vital to the health and mission of a church family, and all three are possible only through the resources of God’s grace.
Should it please God, I want to lead us, as a church family on a study of each of these three vital categories as we enter this next formative and re-formative season. I would love nothing more than to finish my pastorate at CCC watching God pour out his Holy Spirit on the worship, caring and serving of Christ Community Church. Pray with me, stand with me, believe with me.
