This summer at Christ Community,  Brian Haworth and Lee McCroskey will lead us through three acclaimed novels that explore the power of grace. We will read one book per month.

  • June 17 — The Great Divorce by C. S. Lewis

  • July 15 — Godric by Frederick Buechner

  • August 26 — A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

In The Great Divorce, we begin with a magical bus ride to heaven, where souls must decide whether to cling to themselves or surrender to joy. Godric then brings us down to earth, tracing a human life marked by failure, longing, and the slow, surprising work of God’s grace. Finally, A Wrinkle in Time carries us into a cosmic struggle where love—not power or intellect—proves to be the force that overcomes darkness. 

Together, these books invite us to consider how grace meets us, changes us, and ultimately calls us to love in a world that desperately needs it.
