Church Leadership: Nominations
Christ Community Church operates under a Presbyterian form of church government in which the congregation nominates and elects members as ruling elders, deacons, and deaconesses to serve the church.
Nominating an individual as a candidate means they are invited to attend an informational meeting about the training and commitment it takes to serve in church leadership.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CHURCH LEADERSHIP
A communing member of Christ Community Church for a minimum of one year
A willingness to participate in a comprehensive training and interviewing process
An understanding of sound doctrine and biblical understanding

RULING ELDERS
Ruling Elders are charged with the governance and pastoral care of the congregation. They teach and shepherd members, while overseeing the ministries of the church. They occasionally serve as commissioners to the regional gathering of the Church called the Presbytery, and may also serve at the national gathering, General Assembly.
For Ruling Elders, nominate men who exhibit:
• A dedication to the sound teaching of Scripture
• A history of being sought out for spiritual guidance
• Christian maturity
• A reputation for wise engagement with people's struggles
• A concern and prayer for the sick and needy

DEACONS AND DEACONESSES
Deacons and Deaconesses are responsible for addressing the physical and mercy needs of the church and managing the church’s resources. Together they operate as a Diaconate.
For Deacons and Deaconesses, nominate men and women who exhibit:
• A strong willingness—even eagerness—to serve others
• A clear concern for the poor and vulnerable
• A demonstrated ability to solve practical problems
• Readiness to "get their hands dirty"

SESSION ADVISORY TEAM
This team is composed of women nominated to serve in a trusted advisory and support capacity within Christ Community. The team carries two primary responsibilities.
First, it advises the Session on leadership matters that impact the life of the church, including the development and evaluation of policies, ministry programming, and sensitive relational situations.
Second, the team serves as an additional relational, spiritual, and emotional support resource for the women of Christ Community, offering wise counsel, prayerful presence, and encouragement alongside the pastoral staff. Through these roles, the team helps ensure that women’s perspectives are thoughtfully represented and that care for women within the congregation is intentional and well-supported.
