Church History Class
Join Christ Community member Len Stob for a yearlong study as he presents the fascinating story of how God has preserved his church from 30 A.D. to present day.
Class Topic: The Story of Christianity: From Birth to Present-Day
Class Description: The dramatic and often surprising story of Christianity is rarely told. Have you wondered: Where did the church come from? How has the church survived the last 2000 years? How did Christianity spread from a handful of disciples of Jesus to the world's predominant faith? Travel through time and all over the world as you will be introduced to the people, ideas and challenges that have shaped the church, and be reminded of how the same good news of the gospel that launched the church is also the same good news that sustains the future of the church.

Senior Adults 10th Anniversary Banquet
You're invited to a special Senior Adult Ministry banquet, commemorating 10 years devoted to seniors. There is no charge for the banquet, but donations are appreciated.
Entertainment for the evening will be provided by The Road Crew — America’s Route 66 band. The band is known as the official musical ambassadors of Route 66.
About The Road Crew
Band members are Woody Bomar, Joe Loesch, Don King and Jason Harmon. All four live in Nashville and Woody is a member of Christ Community. Though they all have successful careers in other areas of music, entertainment and media, their passion is supporting the preservation of Route 66, the first numbered highway across America.
Presenting original songs about “The Mother Road,” the group also plays popular rockabilly and pop music of the 1950s and 60s, music they call the sound track of the heyday of “America’s Main Street.” They have performed for Route 66 Festivals all along the 2,400-mile road that runs from Chicago to Los Angeles.
The band locally provides entertainment at Puckett’s Restaurants in Franklin, Murfreesboro and Columbia as well as Fox & Locke Restaurant in Leiper’s Fork. The Road Crew’s shows present a mixture of toe-tapping, upbeat music along with good-natured humor.

Kids: Journey to the Table Sunday Class (Fall Session)
Kids’ Journey to the Table, is a four-week class designed for elementary aged children 7-11 years old and their parent(s). Designed to create intentional space for faith conversations at home while providing a clear framework for understanding the gospel, a personal relationship with God, the meaning of church membership, the significance of the Lord’s Supper, and the vows of membership.
This class also helps kids build meaningful connections with our church Elders, who walk alongside them when they’re ready to take the step of becoming communing members.
The material and at home Think It Through lessons are geared toward kids in 2nd through 5th grades. Because we desire to equip you as the parent to be the primary spiritual leader in the life of your child, at least one parent must accompany the child to each class, and we ask that all who register attend all four classes, in either the Fall or Spring session.

The Local Show Presents: Andrew Peterson's The Far Country 20th Anniversary
The Local Show, a monthly concert series hosted by The Rabbit Room, presents a special concert with Andrew Peterson and a 20th Anniversary celebration of The Far Country, his fifth studio album. Released in 2005, this album invites us on yet another journey to someplace unexpected: The Far Country.
Meister Eckhart wrote, “God is at home. We are in the far country.” Peterson read the quote in a book by Annie Dillard years ago and scribbled it in his journal. “It expressed so simply the way I feel about life on this earth, and my heart resounded with the truth of it,” recalls Peterson. “I loved the way it turned my thinking on its end; we usually think of Heaven as the far country, a cloudy, ethereal place, an eternal church service, which sounds about as appealing as traffic school. C.S. Lewis said that all of our desires, for acceptance, intimacy, rest, work, satisfaction, beauty are, at their root, desires for heaven.”
Featuring a full band with Andy Gullahorn, Jill Phillips, Ben Shive, and more, we hope you’ll join us for this special Local Show celebration!
