5 Summer Missions Highlights
As the summer sun begins to set, let’s take a moment to celebrate the amazing ways Christ Community showed up with love, generosity, and service across our community and beyond!
1) Feeding Futures in Franklin
Before the school bells ring again, we made a powerful impact right here at home by paying off all outstanding school lunch debt for students in the Franklin Special School District. Families can start the year with one less worry, and kids can focus on learning, growing, and thriving. What a beautiful way to invest in our neighborhood!
2) Building Hope in Appalachia
This summer, 36 volunteers packed up their work gloves headed to Appalachia with Integrated Community Ministries. Together, they worked on six homes, bringing restoration and hope to families in need. They also hosted a Women’s Retreat for local women, creating space for encouragement, connection, and renewal.
3) Backpacks & Blessings with Hard Bargain Association
Through a powerful partnership with Hard Bargain, we provided both financial support and hands-on volunteer work to help distribute a whopping 1,062 backpacks to children in need in the area. That’s over a thousand kids stepping into the school year equipped and empowered—thanks to YOU!
4) Welcoming the World in Knoxville
We also teamed up with RUF International to welcome international students and scholars at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. We’re excited to be part of their journey and show them the love of Christ as they begin a new chapter far from home.
5) Hope in Leith, Scotland
Our global partner Hope Church in Leith, Scotland began weekly services on August 3. The people of Leith are on our hearts, and we pray for them as they share the Good News that is Jesus—the only hope for us all.
From our home in Franklin to Leith, this summer was bursting with purpose, compassion, and joy. Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and prayer warrior who made these moments possible!
