Christ Community

Why Gospel Discipleship Matters

Following Jesus is more than attending church—it’s a lifelong journey of becoming more like Him. We believe discipleship isn’t just for a few highly committed people; it’s the normal Christian life.

Spiritual growth happens intentionally as we worship together, learn from Scripture, build authentic community, and serve others in everyday life. Over time, Jesus forms us with greater love, wisdom, humility, and purpose.

In Colossians 1:28, Paul writes that the goal is to help people become “mature in Christ.” That is the heart behind everything we do at Christ Community—we want to help people grow into mature followers of Jesus who love, serve, grow, and renew together.

We believe Jesus invites every person into a life of ongoing growth, transformation, and community.

Jesus Calls Us to Follow Him Together

Practices That Shape Us

Gospel Discipleship is not just something we believe—it’s a way of life shaped through intentional practices and community.

These practices are not about earning God’s love, but about creating space for God to form us over time as we follow Jesus together.

Some examples are:

  • Worship

  • Prayer

  • Reading Scripture

  • Confession

  • Repentance

  • Community

  • Serving

  • Generosity

  • Hospitality

  • Gratitude
