Building Maintenance & Repair Fund

Caring Well for What God Has Entrusted Us

Our buildings are tools for ministry—spaces where kids learn about Jesus, students gather in the Harpeth House, worship happens each Sunday, staff serve faithfully, and prayer is lifted throughout.

Proactive care honors God and serves future generations. Addressing known needs now prevents greater cost later.

Why Now

  • Roof project is underway

  • Payment due April 1

  • Total estimated cost: under $400,000 (after insurance)

Due to last year’s hailstorms, insurance significantly reduced our cost—a real blessing. Our responsibility is limited to depreciation and deductible amounts.

Strengthening Our Financial Readiness

We are setting a $600,000 goal.

While the roof will not require this full amount, we believe it is wise to fully fund BMAR so that:

  • We don’t have to repeatedly return to the congregation for future repairs

  • We can respond quickly to maintenance needs without borrowing

  • We reduce financial risk

  • We protect ministry continuity

Maintaining healthy reserves allows us to act responsibly instead of reactively.

At our December 7 congregational meeting, the members voted to establish a line of credit of up to $600,000.

This does not mean we automatically borrow funds.
It simply ensures we are prepared to manage cash flow during the roof project if needed.

Giving to BMAR provides an opportunity to:

  • Minimize the amount we must borrow

  • Potentially eliminate the need to borrow

  • Reduce debt

What About the Line of Credit?

Less debt means greater flexibility for ministry and mission.

Leadership Commitment

Our elders have already committed $60,000 toward this effort, leading the way in shared responsibility and stewardship.

  • Roof replacement

  • Building Maintenance & Repair Fund reserves

This is the amount our Finance Team has determined will cover the roof and give us some reserves.

Why $600,000?

  • Roof replacement

  • Building Maintenance & Repair Fund reserves

We invite you to prayerfully consider how God may lead you to participate. Every gift matters.
